Where to buy GIA Certified gemstones?

Kyle Kopelke|

Established in 1931, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is a respected authority on authenticity, origin and other important data on gemstones and jewelry around the world. The GIA also created the “4C’s”: Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat Weight that is, to this day, the standard for evaluating gemstone, specifically diamond, quality.

When purchasing loose, GIA certified gemstones you have a few options. The most convenient way to purchase loose gemstones is online at Gems and Jewels UK. All of our GIA certified gemstones come with authentic gemological reports and are shipped securely and insured for your protection. For customers that prefer to inspect the gemstones in-hand, visiting the local jewelry store is another option.

Purchasing gemstones online

One option when purchasing certified gemstones is online. GIA certified gemstones can be purchased on our website, Gems and Jewels UK. At Gems and Jewels, we include all of the relevant information to give our customers confidence in the quality and authenticity of loose gemstones. All of our gemstones are securely kept, shipped and insured.

Visiting a local jeweller

Another option when purchasing certified gemstones is to visit a local jeweller. Most local jewellers allow you to see and touch the certified gemstone. Another advantage of visiting a local jeweller is the ability to see the gemstone in natural lighting.

All gemstones listed on Gems and Jewels UK are photographed in natural lighting to replicate a natural setting.

Tip: Have a look at the GIA Gemological report

The GIA provides each certified gemstone with a “GIA Gemological Report”. The report includes details about the gemstone including: it’s Shape, Cut, Transparency, Color and more. It will also provide more detailed information including Species, Variety and Geographical information in certain scenarios.

If you’re interested in learning more about the GIA, it’s history and/or it’s processes take a look at their website: https://gia.edu
